Plan your charcuterie board before you buy a single ingredient.

Drag cheese, cured meat, crackers, and fruit onto a virtual wooden board, see the layout come together, then export it as an image to shop from or share to your group chat.

How to build a charcuterie board

  1. 1. Start with cheese. Pick two to three cheeses with different textures — a soft cheese (brie), a firm cheese (aged cheddar or gouda), and a crumbly cheese (blue or feta) — and place them first, spaced apart on the board.
  2. 2. Add cured meat. Fold or ribbon thin slices like prosciutto and salami near each cheese so they read as pairs.
  3. 3. Fill gaps with fruit and crackers. Grapes, figs, and crackers fill empty space and add color contrast.
  4. 4. Finish with extras. Olives, nuts, honey, and herb sprigs go in last, tucked into the remaining gaps.

How much charcuterie food do I need per person?

As a starting point, plan for about 2–3 oz of cheese and 2–3 oz of cured meat per person if the board is an appetizer, plus crackers, one or two fruits, nuts, and a spread. A 12-inch board comfortably serves 6–8 people; scale ingredient quantities linearly for larger groups.
